At Peppermill Interiors, we recently had the privilege of transforming the outdoor space at Blithfield Lakeside Barns. We reimagined the picturesque exclusive-use wedding and holiday venue nestled on the edge of the 750-acre Blithfield Reservoir in Abbots Bromley, into a fully functional and inviting commercial area. The Lakeside Barns are steeped in natural beauty and rural charm, with breath taking surroundings, from panoramic reservoir views to restored oak beamed barns and tranquil Staffordshire countryside. All of which meant that Blithfield Lakeside Barns served as the perfect backdrop for our outdoor furniture collection. The sense of calm and seclusion that the space is so well known for made it even more important that the furniture we introduced felt considered, fitting and built to last in an outdoor environment.

Central to Blithfield Barns’ outdoor space were the Meza Folding Chairs and the Teak Outdoor Table, a pairing that proved as practical as it was visually compelling. The Meza Folding Chair, crafted from Indonesian golden Teakwood, brings the beautiful grain and warm honey tones that are so characteristic of premium teak, while the slatted backrest and seat provide genuine comfort for guests lingering over a long lunch or settling in for an evening's celebration. The folding mechanism is equally important in a venue context, as the ability to reconfigure seating quickly and store pieces compactly between events is not a luxury but a necessity, and the Meza delivers this without any compromise.
Alongside the Meza Chairs, the Teak Outdoor Table, with its clean-lined design, sturdy legs, and generous square top, provided ample surface space for alfresco dining, drinks service, and the kind of relaxed, abundant table settings that Blithfield Barns has built its reputation on. Supplied flat-packed for straightforward assembly, the tables were simple to install across multiple terrace areas, and the consistency of the teak grain across each piece created an immediate sense of cohesion throughout the space. Together, the Meza Chairs and Teak Outdoor Table created a dining environment that felt warm and welcoming from every angle.
For the courtyard's more intimate terrace nooks, we introduced the Teak Folding Outdoor Café Table paired with additional Meza Folding Chairs. The café table's distinctive cross-leg base brings a striking design feature to a smaller footprint, making it perfectly suited to corners and small areas where a full dining arrangement would feel too much. The compact square top provides an ideal surface for a morning coffee, an afternoon champagne, or a pair of guests taking a breath of fresh air, and the folding design means these bistro-style arrangements can be set out or put away in moments as the needs of the day evolve. The uniformity of the Indonesian golden Teakwood across every piece ensured that even the space felt deliberately curated rather than incidental.
Completing the outdoor transformation at Blithfield Barns was the introduction of the Bistro Bar Table and Bistro Bar Stools, which anchored a relaxed outdoor bar area adjacent to the main reception space. The Bistro Bar Table's clean-lined rectangular frame and generous top provided ample surface space for drinks service and informal standing gathering. While the Bar Stools, with their slatted teak backrests and sturdy footrests, offered genuine comfort for guests choosing to linger at height. The warm honey tones of the premium teak unified the bar area with the wider terrace seating, creating a cohesive flow across the entire outdoor space that felt entirely considered. Whether guests were standing at the bar sharing a toast or seated at a dining table for a formal celebration, the consistency of material and grain across every piece reinforced the sense that the outdoor space had been designed thoughtfully.
