“Thank you to the great team at Peppermill for helping us furnish our new experience space, Judith’s, with beautiful tables, seating and accessories. We are delighted with the quality and unique style of the products, combining modern and traditional.”
Judith’s School of Spirits is Shakespeare Distillery’s newest location at No 1 High St in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon which opened to the public in September 2022. The site was once the former home of Shakespeare’s daughter, Judith, and so was named thus!
Packed with tons of authentic character, Judith’s School of Spirits is no ordinary venue. Inside, you can find the Shakespeare Distillery shop on the ground floor, while the two upper floors have been converted into Judith’s Rum School and Tasting Room, which offer Rum Schools, Gin Tastings and Cocktail Masterclasses. The site is a great experience in the heart of a historic town, perfect for private hiring and an absolute must-do for any rum, gin and cocktail fans.
Featuring a beautiful blend of modern and traditional styles, Judith’s has stayed true to the heritage of this magnificent building and carefully selected a range of Peppermill Interiors’ vintage and contemporary restaurant & bar furniture with rustic charm and traditional qualities.
Traditional Seating for a Tudor Style Interior
As soon as you walk into Judith’s, you’ll notice its traditional interior style, ranging from exposed timber beams to gorgeous, natural wooden flooring. Wooden furniture is such an easy way of implementing a vintage look. As such, Peppermill’s Bentwood Kitchen Dining Chair Range with padded rattan style seats are prominent all across Judith’s rum school and tasting room. Opting for a mix of our Bentwood Dining Chairs with an oak frame and black metal back, both contemporary and traditional styles easily blend with the natural wooden elements of Judith’s interior.
Along with our Bentwood Kitchen Dining Chairs, Judith’s also chose our Machinist Style Low Bar Stools to give their space a modern, industrial twist. Made from solid elm, the Machinist Style Stools in gunmetal are packed with lots of authentic, industrial markings making them a perfect match for the historical timber framed building.
Industrial and Rustic Style Tables
Choosing the right dining tables is crucial to a thriving commercial space. Judith’s turned to Peppermill’s Kitchen and Dining Tables and sourced our Pedestal Leg Dining Table in two different top styles: Butcher’s Block Top and Copper Edge Top. Both choices have rustic and industrial style elements that tie perfectly into the surrounding interior.
Judith’s tasting room also includes our Small Bistro Tables, so there's plenty of furniture where you can sip your chosen beverage. With a carefully selected distressed hardwood top, and beautifully unique knots, marks and grooves, this distinctive table adds an industrial charm to the tasting room. Completed with a metal riveted edge and a cast iron pedestal with a classic round base design, these tables additionally have an element of authentic Parisian styling.
To complete the look, Judith’s have proudly hung one of our ‘J’ Fairground Style Letter Lights for the venue’s namesake. These stunning large carnival style lights have an authentic aged appearance with a distressed white paint finish that perfectly suits the traditional interior of the space.
